After what smokeymoo said this is only gonna make it worse. I will in the near future probably change it. Need to see how it rides first.
Mainly it will be used for the commute, then on the weekend out with the eldest lad ( 9y ).

You paid a grand for a carbon mountain bike then put slick tyres on it and use it for commuting?!

Why didn't you just get a cheap hybrid or something?

One, because i wasn't looking for a cheap bike. Two, because i wanted something light. Three, because it will do a little offroad. Four i love it.

It won't rust, it's light with a strong wheel set and it will be good in the snow as well, positions quite racey compared to some hybrids as well.

It's a good winter choice, if it's sliding drop out set up single speeds do-able as well if you want to save the drive train from road salt.
