'..... On Your Own Doorstep!'

Whilst I was driving over to my running club earlier (circa 17:30), & passing through one of the local towns, a rider was on the pavement, for want of a better expression; I'll call him a 'MAMIL'

Sadly, the traffic-lights were in my favour, & I couldn't stop

Why did I want to stop opposite where he was riding?
I wanted to toot the horn, attract his attention & show him the jersey I was wearing, & shout about using the road

I tend to wear my Clubs long-sleeve cycling jersey over my running t-shirt, as sometimes whilst waiting to run, a few of our members come past, possibly out to the 'chain-gang'
(plus I can leave it with the other jackets/etc, at ParkRuns & such, as I'm the only guy to wear such a top

Unfortunately I didn't know the guy, as his jersey was for the same club!


To make matters worse, & to use that unfortunate phrase about 'defecating on your own door-step, it was in the town that the Club 'calls home'!!!!

I only wear my club top if I'm going on ride with them or to an event to support the club so if I end up doing something wrong I don't bring the club into disrepute

As stated, I wear mine because it's distinguishable, in a pile, plus it's sometimes fun to let other runners see it (particularly the serious ones, that I know I can beat), so they know a cyclist is still faster than them, even without a bike

Plus, I also used to wear one for fell-races, etc... before I joined my running club
