All that remains now is the frame, the forks and the bottom bracket (and that is going soon), after what seems like months the bike rebuild project is finished! So here is the obligatory bicycle in the kitchen photo...

My thanks to Scook94 for the frame, the forks and the bottom bracket, and Mrs HJ's cousin for his help with the build.

Looking good HJ, has it got dirty yet ;-)

Very sweet indeed. Just something cool about white bikes
I read your blog and see you are using 28mm gatorskins. Do the raceguards cover these tyres completely?
I thought raceguards were only suitable for 25mm tyres max?

They do cover the almost completely, the only places there isn't complete cover is there the mudguard meets the frame and they narrow slightly. I would say that 28mm is the absolute max for Curd Road Racer II, they can be rather tricky to set up on 28mm tyres as you can get some tyre rub if you are not careful. On the CdF it is also more difficult as there is too much clearance between the tyre and the frame (remember they are meant for roads bikes which have almost no clearance) and disc brakes, which get in the way... but at the end of the day they can be made to fit.

Lovely bike. Like the wheels a lot. Is it a Deore rear mech?

Where are the base-boards under the units though?

Thanks mate. Sorry for the 20 questions but how do they attach to the seat tube? Did you use a zip tie or something that came with the guards?

Nae bother, they are designed to be zip tied to the bolt holding the brakes, so I just found a suitable bolt and and put that in to attach the zip tie to...

Um, they are in the bedroom waiting for the joiner to come back, actually there is a wee bit of a problem as the floor is not even and they have to be cut to size...
