Because you put the power through the back tyre which wears it quicker as it's constantly having to use friction against the road to move the bike forward when you pedal. The front just rolls.
You'll find the same with your car but the other way around. Assuming it's front wheel drive, your front tyres will wear quicker than the rear.

Possibly also you might be over-using the rear brake, which could be skidding the rear tyre a little. 75% or more of braking should come from the front wheel in dry grippy conditions. In the wet it should be 50/50 or less.
