Id steer well clear. A total change of engine type, which appears not to have been registered, has potential consequences with the DVLA as regards "points" for determining originality, and thus its historic status.
I've previously recounted a mate's P4. He'd decide petrol was too dear for him to continue with the thirsty IOE straight six petrol and stuck a Landie diesel engine in it. He'd then get fed up wirh the terrible performance of the sub 60hp diesel and swap back to the Rover unit. He did several to and fronswops over the years. He'd also converted it into an estate car using aluminium sheet and a Landrover tailgate. Oh, and it was painted matt khaki
