And then Ford made a saloon (Orion?), but later changed its name to Escort, thus adding to the 'Escort sales figures' in order to gain the accolade of best-selling car!

The bigger engine ones were quicker than the aRSe2000 that came along 5 years later, but the fast Vauxhalls sadly sank into near obscurity while the less capable Ford is a cult car that sells for proper money. Weird how things turn out.
