Many years ago (30+), in Wrenthorpe (now, a suburb of Wakefield) near Picadilly Motors (was a FIAT dealer, now Kia), there was a house that had at least a dozen pre 1950s Rovers in there, plus innumerable piles of spares/wheels/chassis/etc....
The newest he had was probably a P3
Coincidentally, a few years ago, I was talking to a chap, at St Aidens (where
'OddBall' resides), with a 75 estate, who mentioned he had a few old Rovers, I told him about the Wakefield collection
It turned out to be the same guy, who told me where he lived (I'd ridden/driven past many times, but they can't be seen from the road)
I've kept in touch, & had a look round his yard, it's a veritable treasure-trove, & he contributed a large amount of knowledge/photographic models to James Taylor, for one of his excellent 'Original' books about 30s Rovers, such as;
