IIRC the 1100 didnt even have a servo. The mk2 Polo was the same.

I'm not overly familiar with the petrol Golfs but the diesels all had servos.

My main experience with them is the commercial vehicle variations which had the 10.5" drums common to the Passat Estate and the Audi 80 so perhaps normal versions with the small drums weren't so good at stopping.

I believe early mkI Golfs had drums all round.

Indeed. More money spent on stickers and Frenching the rear lights than on properly repairing the rot. The bodywork looks like a relief map of Ross Kemp's scalp.

I was overtaken (but only just) by a tired looking and sounding Porsche 928 this afternoon.The engine seemed to be putting more effort into making a V7 (or fewer) type sound rather than useable power. I'm sure it's one I've seen parked up a driveway near Haughley and presumed 'retired' from the road.
