Yeap Suzuki running gear I bet!

I did have a look and it is a 4x4 underneath which is why I did the DVLA check to see what it was based on.

No photos as I wasn't quick enough......... Last week in a nearby 'wealth Town' a Rolls Royce drove alongside us (pedestrians), and at the low speed the RR centres of the hubcaps were stationary! Clearly, they are mounted on a low-drag bearing and I wonder what happens at higher speeds? Impressive. Even more impressive (bearing in mind (no pun intended) the vast difference in development budget) was a 'Lotus Seven inspired kit car' I spotted at a show several years ago - The cycle guards on the front suspension on such cars tend to vibrate due to only being supported from the suspension on the inside of the wheel. The cycle guards of the subject car had additional stays on the outside, which were supported by a sealed bearing at the outside centre of the wheel. Very impressive for a home-built vehicle.

Many years ago I visited the Rolls Royce assembly plant in Goodwood. Walking around the production floor I noticed that the RR logos on the wheels were all upright. I commented to our host what an amazing feat of attention to detail this was, that all cars were arranged with their logos upright. That was the day I learnt about the weighted logos.

The old Shove-it wasn't a bad car. Totally conventional and unexciting, but not a bad motor for all that.

Mum had a 1256 hatchback that used to go through clutches at an alarming rate , needless to say that I spent many an afternoon laying on my back pulling gearboxes in and out

Do you think it was the car or your Ma?

A friends mum had the auto, a proper slush box on that weedy 1.3 engine. Apocalyptically slow.
