Ah, so hes the one!

Hmmm, well he's had a history of driving some slightly oddball machinery. Or nice machinery in oddball ways.

He's rallied an SD1 V8, raced a Rover 220 Turbo, plus messed around with assorted hillclimb and grasstrack machinery. The X90 cost him a grand about eight years ago or so. He says it's ideal for cheap motorsport, especially as he's running it in almost standard trim. There's a couple of "trick" X90s running in the higher classes (bigger engines, 4WD).

Black and silver plates on any car registered after 1972 IMO just don’t look right.

Not a classic but nice to see an old battered and bruised 405 still in daily use. Spotted in Madrid city centre earlier today.

Was behind the model after that (406) on the M6 a few days ago. Thought it was a Fiesta or something until I got close up, they're a pretty small car by todays standards, SUV's etc. Then again I also saw one of the first BMW X5's the other day. When I first saw one of those years ago, I thought it was a huge bloated thing, now that looked about the size of a Mk 2 J11 Qashqai (maybe a tiny bit bigger, but not much).

A nice restoration!

Taken at jct 31/M62
I’d followed it from ‘Whitwood roundabout’ (where the Mining College’ used to be)
The combination headed onto the m-way westbound
I was stationary, transmission in neutral/handbrake on, so felt the photo was okay

My first car was a minivan but with side windows conversion.

Were they still making them in 1979?

I seriously considered a brand new mini van towards the end of their run. If they'd done it in 1275cc version I'd have gone for it I think.

Some not so common cars, the Mk 1 Cortina looked in very nice nick, but not all the others looked like runners. Earlier that day was a Wolsey 1100 and a Mk3 cortina so they evidently ran. Muffed up the photo of the Cortina , oh, I mean what do you think of my arty shot?

EDIT: found a decent pic of the Mk1 cortina
