So, I've been trying to think what my best purchase this year has been. Two things popped to mind that have contributed to my enjoyment of cycling, but are not cycling specific. However I feel they deserve a mention on the off chance that other likeminded ladies might be interested in them.
1) Femmecup

2) Shewee

The Femmecup is absolutely fantastic. I wish I had discovered it earlier. Makes going on the bike all day when you're on that time of the month so easy. Likewise if you're travelling all day. No worries about having to find somewhere to stop and change pads/tampons etc.
You can leave it in for up to 12 hours and there is no link to toxic shock. I can go to work or a night out and completely forget about it until I get home.
You just empty it down the loo and rinse it out. I sterilize mine once a month with Milton sterilizing tablets before putting it away for next month. It does sound a bit yucky but after a few goes you soon get used to it and don't make any mess.
There are there are other similar cups out there, for example the Mooncup which I believe Boots actually stocks.
The sheewee I've not had for long, but has come in useful. It's a bit self explanatory really, but basically allows you to wee standing up without taking off any clothes and showing your lily white bum to passing motorists.
