One Handers - ?

Noticed recently that more drivers appear to be holding the steering wheel with thie right hand at the 'twelve / one o'clock position.
Obviously no idea what their left hand is doing but wouldn't have though that where the right hand is would be condusive to good control on the occasion of a 'sudden event'.
Thoughts - ?

More concerning to me is the amount of (Elderly) drivers who seem 'afraid' of T-junctions. And sit 5 yards plus back from the main road they are attempting to join. But because they are back from the junction do not have a clear view of the traffic on that same main road.......

This is then often accompanied by remaining 5 yards back from the junction. But sliding forward on the very front of the seat in order to gain better vision. I mean WTAF ?

And then of course at the merest hint of a gap between passing vehicles , being forced to dump the clutch and launch themsleves into the traffic - that they still cannot fully see.


Arghh. Just shoot me once i reach that point.

My MIL hated turning right, so often went the 'long' way home !

Poor drivers are out there.

What concerns me at junctions, especially left hand ones is the number of drivers waiting to get out but spend more time staring to their left rather than their right where the greatest danger is.

Shortly after leaving home I turn left onto a main road. Not only do I look to my right awaiting a gap in the oncoming traffic but I make a point of carefully looking left as there can be large lorries or even worse, a vehicle overtaking another vehicle which would place them on the side of the road into which I am turning and then cause a “head on” collision.

I don't know that it's more recent. I've noticed it since I started driving. In my experience more often than not it signifies an aggressive driver and I'm now conditioned automatically to think "knob". If the driver is also leaning to one side it looks more gangsta and that perception is increased tenfold.
