Why post your comment in the first place then?

Well, I answered your first question (is it the same bike), I just can't be bothered to answer your second question (What's the difference).

I think the difference is to do with the geometry of the frame. One being a bit more streched out than the other.

But I could be wrong.

And the only previous transaction they have on e bay was selling a trek madone 5.2 pro
Also direct from the manufacturer.

Even IF it were a genuine ad why would you pay only £300 quid less than full asking price for a secondhand bike?

Any legitimate dealer worth a light would negotiate on list price for a 4 grand sale.

Wasn't one of these up as a competition prize in the August Cycling Plus mag? I briefly had dreams until the end of July came and went.

Hmmm.

Who would want a Giant TCR...even the advanced model...over that?!?

Nice bike, suspicious back story.

Previously sold a Trek Madone 5.2, again obtained "direct" from national distributor. His car registration plate is in the background of that one as well....anybody with access to that kind of information now knows where a £3k bike is residing!

Presumably the buyer of the Trek was a friend or a relative as well!

Smells like he works somewhere in the bike distribution industry and has just managed to cream off a couple. Hence having the box, and the 'paperwork' will be the instruction manual, etc. which he would have if that were the case.
I'd be willing to wager that it hasn't ever been ridden, hasn't actually been nicked from an end user, but hasn't been legitimately paid for either.
