I may have bought another bike....

OK OK I have bought another bike. I had a totally different kind of ride last saturday and I really enjoyed it, but the old Raleigh is not suited to what I want to on that kind of ride (it can't take a rack), and as it happens, Evans have some nice discount on a cheap Hybrid with nice fat tyres and no rubbish suspension. I can put a rack on it, so I can take the big camera with me, for rides where I want to go slower and not be wearing lycra.

The colour is a bit... errr.... louder than I usually go for I admit, but it should do the job admirably.

It arrives tommorrow in a big box.

Anyone want to buy an aluminium Giant Defy? It definately has to go now with another bike arriving :shy:

No, it's a 2012 Defy 2. Medium size. Tiagra gears (50-34 and 11-28), carbon forks, upgraded with Giant P-SL1 wheels and I've put some very low mileage Vittoria Rubino Pro's on them. It'll come with its original handlebars (changed to FSA compact drop) too, and I'll even leave the crud roadracer guards on it

...pondering... can't really afford pre-Xmas, but (maybe in a pm) let me know what you want for it... I'll have a think

It's orange.

The model above it was an even more anti-social lime green

Why does your Giant have to go? You can still ride it for different sorts of ride. How about n+1?

I'm out of storage space. I still have the carbon Defy, the CX (aka winter road bike), the MTB and the old Raleigh. The alloy Defy wasn't getting used much any more anyway, it hasn't been ridden since August when I used it as a light tourer in Yorkshire.

Can't buy new bikes, like a car there secondhand value plummets once they leave the showroom. Unlike a car there is no logic to it but I do agree with it..... as I buy secondhand!!

I was looking a those Lithiums when charged with procuring a bike for a colleague's daughter. Nice bikes for the cash and some superb colours.

I was thinking of getting my alfine stealth bomber powder coated orange.. might have to go acid/lime green now
