Luck shouldn't come in to it !

Experience, knowledge, wisdom - these should all be in play.

It's a bike, I'm a woman: might like it today, reserve the right to change my mind tomorrow :girl:

Nice free multitool and pedal spanner to put it together with too :okay:

Now to get rid of various reflectors and put on a bottle cage etc... Then, we ride!

Well, 10 miles into the test ride, an it's really very pleasant . As is customary, he is being introduced to a Cafe Stop.

Some fettling with the position to do later, and I'll probably change the grips for ergo ones, and the pedals too. Otherwise, it's good!

Hope you adjusted the handlebars. I think I'd have gone for the lime green.
I was tempted.... but it was an extra hundred quid for being green and having 3 more gears..

Quick review of the bike:

It's no flat-bar road bike for speed, but it's quicker than the MTB with slicks. Light to handle, nice and responsive, climbs well ( I had no need for the granny ring). Tyres seem fine, I need a bit less pressure in the front and a bit more in the rear, but comfortable. Saddle is nice too. This would be a cracking commuter!

:okay:

Right then. Here it is in its final spec. Fitted the Topeak rack and got rid of the wheel reflectors. The Halfords rack bag fits on fairly well, a bit squashed at the front, but it's secure. One nice discovery is that it has two bolts under the downtube that are perfect to bolt on a Crudcatcher. It would take full mudguards if you wanted though :okay:

I've spotted a nice pair of orange pedals on Wiggle too

Mike, the bike looks nicer in your pictures than on the website.
I got mine click and collect, as I'm only a few miles from town.
They emailed it's in store now, but not assembled yet, couldn't collect it before Tuesday anyway, so all good.
I'd keep the big box to make a cat den
