Try as I might I cannot get a photo of it glowing, it's just too faint for the camera to pick up. With all the lights out, it changes to white, but you'd never see it out in the wild if there's any other light around. It's a bit of a gimmick, but it'll amuse my nephew

The frame stickers are reflective though, that works well, and drivers could definately see it when I rode through town. In fact, they couldn't help but look at it!

This box is big enough to make a den for a Lion  just how big is BigCat?

What pedals did you get then?

Edit: are the bars very wide? Will I tell them to cut a bit off because I've got wee shoulders?

I've just measured. 68cm wide, which is wider than my MTB's bars, those are only 63cm and I thought they were quite wide. If you're getting the smaller size, the bars will probably be narrower.

The usual crappy pedals come with it, they make my feet ache, so I'm gonna replace them with these, in orange:

I'll also get some ergo grips because the round ones make my hands go numb. It was the same on the MTB and ergo grips sorted it, and were much more comfortable.

They phoned me today to arrange collection, I mentioned the bars, if the mechanic cut cut them to no more than 60cm, the woman on the phone did not know what I was talking about, she said we set your saddle height.
I said, ta, but I'll set my own
Will cut my own bars too if necessary, got a pipe cutter

Assuming they haven't used radioactive paint, it's probably phosphorescent, so it needs to charge up in the light. If it's just come out of a box, it won't glow much. Leave it out in the sun** for a few hours, and see if it's brighter.

**OK, you may have to wait for May

Edit - and the evans site says "translucent pedals". They don't look translucent in your photos

Well, are they not supposed to only be as wide as your shoulders are?
Or are you entering the cupboard sideways?
For road bikes, shoulder width is about right. For MTB, wider bars can give better control at lower speed.

I have to turn the bars a bit and lift the front through the door.

They are wide.. Seems to be the big thing in MTB, I've seen some ridiculously wide bars, nearly 80cm! I know wider can be better, but that's surely going too far.

I'm still toying with swapping the bars with my MTB ones, which are 6cm narrower.

Right then. Here it is in its final spec. Fitted the Topeak rack and got rid of the wheel reflectors. The Halfords rack bag fits on fairly well, a bit squashed at the front, but it's secure. One nice discovery is that it has two bolts under the downtube that are perfect to bolt on a Crudcatcher. It would take full mudguards if you wanted though :okay:

I've spotted a nice pair of orange pedals on Wiggle too

If you've gone for a Topeak rack I'd stick a Topeak bag on the Chriggy pressie list, the slide and click is the best feature of that rack/system.
Plus if you fit a pair of panniers you can still slide the bag on/off so it's perfect for any valuables

That is true, and something I'm considering later
