I have been trying to change the margin size in the Default text template.

Despite following through the instructions in Help for changing the Default template I have been unable to save the new default margin settings.

What am I doing wrong?

I'm not too sure but I don't think you can save it as default you have to save it as a document i.e. letter heads

Are you trying to save it as the default template itself ?
That would corrupt the original default template making it no longer available.
The original default template may even be hard coded into the software.
You should be saving as a new template name then making that the default as suggested

Thanks - I'll try this.

The instruction on the website are actually different from those I found in the help file embedded in the programme.

Thank you Ian. I have thought about trying to do that and failed. By exploring the options, I go to point 4, about the Commands, but must have missed seeing the "Set Template as Default" option.

The instructions are good, in that it remembers to tell you how to re-set it.

Is that because the Instructions are written by someone who can teach/show someone how to use a program. The Help File was written by the person(s) who designed the program. The two talents are perhaps rarely found in one person.

Just to confirm that the instructions in your link worked. Thanks again.
