Here for rides.
Part of the rationalisation will be to acquire a second Brompton telescopic seat post and an... ahem... appropriate saddle* for tlh, thus making Rhubarb a his'n'hers enabled bike.

*it will not be a Brooks B17. She will never ride a B17 again. Not ever.

Fair weathered, fair minded but easily persuaded.
I downsized dramatically in my last house move, and got rid of loads of stuff, a lot of which I didn't even know I owned. It was very enjoyable and also rather sobering. I reduced the bike collection to three, but ... it's back up to six now, shortly to be seven .
Snap on the dramatic downsize two years ago. I felt really good and have had several trips to the hospice shop with bags of stuff. There is still more that could be found useful employment.

However the bike situation only grows. I can see one removal soon coming on but it will be swiftly replaced as I have my eye on something.

I have just 3 bikes now, from a high of 9, 2 in properly rideable condition.

Realistically I could stick with the Cannondale Ute and the Brompton but I've had the Birdy since new and; very ropey SA 5 speed hub excepted; it is still a corking ride and like your PPE, is the bike I have the emotional attachment to.

It's a bit more complicated than that...
We could do with a bit of a slim-down - "a place for everything and everything in its place" being a recipe for calm. It's (mostly) not actually about having too much stuff; it's more about actually putting things away or throwing them out when they've been finished with. We do have more books than we have bookshelves for, and the garage is a bit of a glory-hole of old bits of stuff, rubbish and tools and bike bits in a bit of a mess.

But I've got no particular desire to slim down the bike fleet just yet - other than the one that's earmarked for a sale. Each bike has a purpose, and with a little bit of TLC in some cases will be useful.

I have a maahoosive kit bag crammed full of cycle clothing atop the wardrobe. When I was commuting 20km each way five days a week three seasons it all got used. Now? Not so much. But do I dare get shot and then have to buy again if I end up doing full-on commutes again.

We also have a temporary challenge. A five bedroomed house. One bedroom unserviceable whilst the steels go in. No kitchen, no dining room, well, the pseudo-kitchen is in the old dining room, only one bathroom. One bedroom given over to storage of displaced stuff. Two adult offspring living at home. Selfish man who was living away has come back home early and brought a load of stuff back with him. Despite lok'n'store we are bursting at the seams....

I think you should temporarily ease the strain on the bulging house by coming for a ride tomorrow. Ockley Station, 10:00. YKIMS.

Been there, done that, resolved to move out for the duration if we were ever stupid enough to have major building work again...

How much would five tops, five pairs of shorts and a couple of jumpers really cost? Is that too much to compensate for the angst of a stuffed kitbag?

The man drawer is gone, upended, unsorted, into the bin
What's a man drawer?
Btw, at first I read the thread title as "operation slim the feet"

Anyway, my brother says he's coming to stay a while.
So I've bought an extra large Keiter garden storage thing to put the garden stuff in that is currently on the verandah, plus a few bike bits and pieces, spare wheels, a project frame, the trailer.
The idea was to put the bikes on said verandah, apart from the never used roadie that is hanging on the wall, then reclaim the spare bedroom.
The only thing is ... I can't bare the thought of my babies getting cold outside!:cry::cry:
