Alternatively imagine a space-time continuum where the different road users from pedestrians up to HGV drivers are divided into separate warring tribes , each vying with the others for prize of most demented act of road use insanity in their on going battle Warriors style. Call this space-time continuum LondiniumI'm reading all this and trying to shift my mind into a different space-time continuum where everybody is in a relaxed mood and has plenty of time. Cyclists, drivers, walkers, would all cooperate politely and with good humour and every encounter would be a pleasure. I would only expect to experience such unhurried joy on a touring holiday of the west of Ireland or the Scottish islands, to be honest.
I have read and reread this post several times and still can't workout what you are trying to say or what your viewpoint might be?This just reminds me of a similar thread a few years back where funnymummy, a deeply inoffensive member of the forum, got on the wrong end of a poster with a profile pic that fitted in with his The pelaton must prevail, the safety of the many outweighs the bladder needs of the few viewpoint. Imagine the furore if a team of weekend warriors ended up behind 30 horse riders holding position![]()
Nope, still not any clearer. Are you a soldier, or at war, or want to punch someone in the gob or something?Alternatively imagine a space-time continuum where the different road users from pedestrians up to HGV drivers are divided into separate warring tribes , each vying with the others for prize of most demented act of road use insanity in their on going battle Warriors style. Are you sure about this? I've never seen a centre line painted on a single lane road, part of my journey was down some single lane country roads.
they were 3-4 abreast and took the entire lane right up to the center road markings.
I was in the car with the family yesterday to drop my caravan off at storage site, part of my journey was down some single lane country roads.
That ain't single lane. Would you like to try again to explain why you mentioned "single lane" in the opening post?
How do you figure out it's in their best interests to delay their journey?I came across a group of cyclists out for a leasurely ride, they were 3-4 abreast and took the entire lane right up to the center road markings. Being a cyclist myself I held back and waited for the possibility they would maybe pull in one or two abreast so I could *safely* overtake.
Well a mile later at 10mph there was no sign of them giving any road at all for me to take, with the van on the back I wasn't happy with just the oncoming lane as it still woukd have been tight to get past them.
I just can't really understand why they blocked the lane completey, surely it's in their best interests to let the car though as well as mine?.
It seems more like it was a poor show for you to drive a too-wide vehicle along a good cycling road instead of sticking to the motorways. I don't understand why we bother to build motorways when motorists still use ordinary roads instead. We should ban motorists from ordinary roads!I would like to hear other people's genuine opinions on this, for me it was a poor show for cyclists on this occasion?.
Unless it's an Airstream, now they are cool and no one has tried to kill me with one yet unlike the farking white ones.I can't believe that no one has mentioned that all caravans should be burnt, yet.
Sorry, it would be classed as a single carriageway single lane in each direction..
I'm sure you know that we can't cover the whole country with motorways for every possible journey. Surely you could have used one of the caravan storage places closer to a motorway, like at Doncaster, and just got off and pushed for the last little bit?If you can find a good motorway to Acaster I'm all ears!.
