Thanks for your advice on a previous thread re picking my first commuting bike. I have narrowed my search down to these three bikes which are at stores close enough for me to pick up... Would you sway either way in particular?

Personally I would go for the Trek, not so keen on the step through look of the Ridgeback. I have looked at Pinnacle bikes before, never ridden one but they do look a bit cheaper than the big brands in terms of paint job etc. I think the Trek has the best gbroupset, the Acera, but don't quote me lol

How tall are you - if buying from Evans, they only have the 15" or a 20" in the Trek, that's a big difference - the former, probably if you are 5'3-5'5, the 20" if you are 5'10+

I'd go down to Evans and have a test ride

Thank you, you are an absolute gem. Will go for the trek in that case. I am (just) 5.5. The guy who I spoke to in Evans yesterday said the 15" would be best but 17" should be absolutely fine for me.

Excellent - what I'd do is get a ride on the two sizes and see which you like best

Enjoy, don't forget to get yourself a good Gold rated D Lock, some mitts and maybe a helmet (I don't ride without, but that's up to you )

My wife has one (7100) and loves it.
