Several times the wife has with a serious face said "i wonder if toys do come to life when we are not here"
There is truly no hope for her, but i doubt she's the only one to say it.

Of course they come to life when nobody is watching. How else does my tea vanish from its mug when I'm not looking. I've not drunk it!

I think that's the most likely outcome. One comes around every few days. I photographed them nipping into someones garden to nab stuff being thrown out in a refurb. The owner wasn't bothered in that case. I don't think they'll hesitate in taking the bike and wheelbrrow.

I had that said to me in connection with a local cycle campaigning issue and said to the photographer, "I'm not playacting, this is a serious matter". This was just before setting off on my summer holiday, so I never did see the pic. but others did.
