What I find fascinating about them is once you've 'got your eye in' you can move back from the screen, and even move your head around, and you can still see the image.

I was just thinking that myself! It is a really strange effect.

can see wings and puny arms, but looks more like a triangular angel than a dragon!
I once wrote a program to convert 16 colour bmp files into autostereograms, each colour in the source file representing a different depth.
can't claim any credit for the clever maths - I lifted the algorithm from an article in New Scientist.

ive never been able to see these things , mind you in the colour blind test at school , the circle with the coloured dots I could never get past the third page, like this , I cant see a bloody thing in it
