I've been looking for another bike to do some touring, forest trails and canal towpaths and I am interested in having a go at the Eurovelo routes. I live in France but there is not a great choice of bike shops around my local area so I'll probably have to go for a recognised brand. Today, I found a new 2009 Orbea Artea on sale at 850 gbp and although its a bit more than I wanted to pay and its classed as a "world tourer", the spec looks pretty good and it does not feel too heavy. Then, I started looking around and the Kona Sutra popped up and looks interesting ! If anyone could give me some advice and let me know if I am wasting my money, I would appreciate it.
Dont know whether anyone has considered touring in Switzerland but http://www.veloland.ch/en/welcome.cfm has some useful information/routes.

That's not a bad price for the Orbea, as long as it's not 2nd hand! I bought one new last year and it cost considerably more than £850.
As well as being a very impressive performer,it looks lovely too!!
