Here for rides.
I'm only half way through the first episode (on Sky+) and it has justified this years license fee.

Great TV (and Dr Alice Roberts..... swoon)

I'm going with NASA'a Greatest Missions on Quest, having watched Origins of Us last week. Alice Roberts has a tendency to make me want to punch the television....

I've got Origins of us, Nasa and Mummyfying Alan on the go. Two are being recorded for later. Already recorded Brave New World.

I just saw Alice Roberts eating carrots. I think she is trying to do for science programs what Nigella did for cookery. A review in the paper commented that there is always an excuse for Ms Roberts to get her kit (mostly) off in each episode.

I, earlier, watched that thing about the faster than speed of light findings at Gran Sasso on BBC 1 with that baldy maths guy (The Code, etc), and, quite frankly, I could have punched the telly too. Not, because of the contents you understand, but because of all the utterly annoying and needless music!!

Do they really think we only have the attention span of a 5 year old on Tizer and need lots of music to .... oh look, a dog!!

Seriously though, it annoyed me very much.

I keep meaning to explore access to thinks like iPlayer etc because the BBC et al does have some very good output. I'm geo-blocked as a rule (whereas I'm fine for ListenAgain on the radio). I realise it's all to do with marketing rights, licence fees etc, but some of these programs you don't really have a viewing alternative. It's not like I can nip off to the local store and get it on DVD!

Is that like a Bollywood "Are you being served?" ?
hehe. I might watch it, if it were.
It means 'What shall we call this love?'

Alice Roberts was ok as the rookie presenter on Coast, but given that she would by now have had some presentation training, her faked enthusiasm is just overbearing...
