Ortlieb pannier material: plus vs classic

Both the Ortlieb Roller and Packer panniers can come in either Plus or Classic material. What are the pros and cons of the 2 different materials?

As I understand it the Plus material is PVC free which is less damaging to the environment.

Classic is easier to clean, and easier to mend (by gluing a patch on).
Plus is lighter, and is meant to be tougher (though I have my doubts - when I used to be a caver, the PVC oversuits did better than the Cordura ones)
