Oslo bomb and shooting

As you all know by now there has been a double tragedy here in Norway causing the death of (to-date) almost 100 people.

8 were killed in the bomb blast in the capital and 84 were shot dead by one, possibly two gunmen at a youth camp on an island not far from Oslo.

Incredibly enough, one of the gunmen, held in custody by the police, is behind both the bomb attack and shootings.

My girlfriend's youngest son is seriously injured, although not dangerously, and awaiting a second major operation in the emergency ward at hospital.

My workmate's girlfriend died this morning from her injuries.

Ironically, the man responsible for both attacks, was my girlfriend's other son's boss 10 years ago.

It brings the tragedy very close.

My thoughts are with you and the rest of Norway and I hope your girlfriend's son manages to get through this ok.

I've only visited Norway a couple of times, but those visits left me with a desire to return, such was the warmth and welcoming nature of everyone I met. It is a country that I would have put very low on a scale of this kind of atrocity happening.

If what we are hearing over here is correct, this psycho - diverting emergency services to the bombing in Oslo, to leave him free to go on his rampage against so many innocent kids, with unarmed protectors. What a despicable, evil and twisted coward.... Words fail me !!

I was camping in Cumbria last year with the family when Bird went on his rampage, but that was junior league compared to what you're all going through at the moment.

Dayvo, I thought about you as soon as I read the news - I don't know of that many people that live in Oslo.

I hope your girlfriend's son comes through it all. Did this chap's brother say anything about his former boss? Was he always a bit odd?
