I've recently bought a new DSLR (and registered on the 'photography' forum above) and hope to get out and about with my camera.

Also I plan to start painting landscapes/abstracts in acrylics.

And I have seven musical instruments waiting to be picked up and learnt to be used.

Not withstanding 70+ books collecting dust on the bookshelves.

I expect a busy time in front of me, as winter is a good time cos of the weather here and little cycling, although that brings me to my favourite hobby: travelling. I'm off to India for three months at the end of October. At least I'll be able to read, paint, take pictures and learn an instrument or two at the same time as getting seriously brown and lazy.

This has probably been done,

Yes it has.

There's five pages of responses to the thread started a fortnight ago.

Seeing as I did't respond to that one I'll answer here.

Bagpipe playing. I have a half set of Uilleann pipes and a set of Northumbrian pipes. The Northumbrian pipes need servicing as its keys are sticking a bit.

Railway modelling. I am currently selling off some 7mm scale stuff and planning a layout to go into the loft. Live steam figures in my plans for the garden.

Aeromodelling. This has been rather dormant for the past four years though I'm clearing building space in my shed.

Pie making and eating. This has been on back burner while I've focussed on shedding some lard. Had a relapse yesterday when I ate three pies.

I like playing and watching football...2/3 times a week.
I like fishing - coarse fishing and flyfishing...difficult to get a whole day to myself what with family commitments.
I teach English as a foreign language...mainly at summer schools at uni campuses.

Photography big time.
hiking/mountaineering less so since I found touring, neither much at the moment due to dodgy leg.
Driving - used to teach advanced level driving on a voluntary basis - less involved now, somehow it does not seem as important after 12 months on tour.
cooking - loving having an oven and more than 1 'ring' again ^_^

Making music (well I call it music anyway!). I play guitar and ukulele, with a bit of basic bouzouki and banjo from time to time, and currently I am trying to learn harmonica.

We also have a campervan (see the avatar) which takes us away on as many weekends and holidays as we can manage to fit in.

surely curries should be on the backburner whereas pies are in the oven ?

Photography here too. Both of us have Canon DSLRs. We like geocaching too. We can cycle and cache at the same time which can make for a fun ride out.
We like walking generally and have 4 dogs to walk so its probably a good thing that we like it.
