Other people's tv viewing habits.

A friend decided that she didn't watch enough TV to justify paying the licence fee, so she stopped paying it when we switched over to digital and her TV is only used now for watching DVDs.

There were a few shows that she missed so started using iPlayer to watch them. I queried it, but she declared that she didn't need a licence to use iPlayer as long as she waited for programmes to finish before starting to watch them. I thought that couldn't possibly be right, but I checked, and it is. Where's the sense in that!

We all have our own tastes in tv I suppose. I had the fortune of visiting Mrs CP's sister and family yesterday for a birthday meal. The food was excellent, the wine flowed, then we retired to the living room. This is for me where the evening (until then fantastic) suddenly became a chore.

what worries me more is how much you recall of it all, especially the bits you didn't like I usually just get up and leave the room, read a book or ask my OH if he wants some fresh air and we go for a walk (no matter what the weather).
not sure it is a getting old thing, but a case of 'get a life' thing... maybe because I grew up without a TV and only got something in colour when my OH came along... but I don't find it that interesting (and I'm not quite out of my 30's yet). That said I did enjoy Kevin McCloud's Man made house...

A pre-recorded show called 'Take Me Out' was played and the ensembled family (ranging from 5 through 15, 18, 22, 44, 45, 47, 49, 74 and 83 years) couldn't get enough. I just saw 30 vacuous harpies trying to see who could wear the most make-up combined with the least clothing simultaneously. Then the 'man' appeared to try and 'charm them'.

Take Me Out is the worst television program I have ever had the misfortune of experiencing. It takes the crappyness of cheese-fest Blind Date to much higher levels. I used to just moan about garbage like this and the X-Factor to my wife. But at the end of the day it is up to the individual what they watch, so now I say nothing and just do something else.

No need for a licence - just watch programmes on the +1 channel. That aint live TV, it's one hour old!

My sister in law watches Corry and East Enders, she will not answer the phone or the door when they are on. To cap that she records them whilst watching them in case there is a power cut, yes figure that one out as I certainly cannot.
