I got myself an injury that's so silly it doesn't merit the health and fitness forum
Today I was cycling to work on one of my hybrids, Colombo the explorer :becool: He's got quite wide bars set lower than my other bikes, with ergo grips great for climbing.
So, there's this new bit of road not open to traffic yet, meant to become a fast bus lane. Don't know what possessed me, did bent as much as I could in aero position, gripped the bars ...attack!!! .... AUCH my back!!!!
So silly, all my years lifting heavy stuff at work, never an injury, got frozen peas down my back now
This does not abode well for my plans to learn to ride a road bike

DCLane

Found in the Yorkshire hills ...
Pat - it's occasionally happened to me - and I ride a road bike 95% of the time.

Stretching exercises are probably your answer; I'd suggest you've muscles in your back that aren't used to those angles.

Cheers for that DC! One is not as flexible as one was  Will do stretching, and maybe be more careful next time

Get well soon Pat!
And what's with the "learn to ride a road bike"? You already know how to ride a road bike! It's the same as all your other bikes :bicycle:.

There's no fool like an old fool

Must have been a Strava QoM you were trying for was it?
Did get to 16.7 mph, must have done it faster previously, no trophy
I think I'll be ok by tomorrow @Brandane, a shift with plenty of heavy lifting did not help, then I had to ride home too.

I also hope it clears up quick and as @DCLane said it can happen ! and I use those heat pads which you just stick over the affected area I find these most helpful, now a road bike are you feeling the need for speed these days ?
