so as some may remember i had bought a new mtb about 5 wks ago, just a cheap one as i wasn't sure if i would have the will power to get out there on a bike after not riding one since i was 16, ive arthritis, im overweight, a knee that was pieced back together & required 4 operations (38 years young & felt a good 20 years older than my age) & really struggled the first load of times i went on the bike.

but something has happened, ive discovered that i really liked being on the bike again after not riding for years, so i had just began trying to push myself a little more each ride, when i had to drop the mtb back to the shop for yet another repair (4th in as many weeks) i was told they couldn't fix it & gave me a new one, fine but when i got it home my patience came to an end when i found the bike had been put together by monkeys, so the new back was also returned to the shop and i got a refund.

since then ive been trying to figure out what kind of bike i want, originally id thought hybrid, but settled for the cheap mtb as i wasn't sure if i would ride it or not but, now that im starting over with the knowledge that i do enjoy the feeling of the bike and the motivation is definitely there to get out & ride, ive decided to buy a ridgeback rapid motion hybrid.

had hoped to get it this week but after having to pay for unexpected vets fees to have sand removed from my king charles eye ive had to postpone the ridgebacks arrival by a week.

been itching to get back out on the bike so much that i had even been tempted to buy another cheap mtb to ride in the meantime then just keep it for very occasional use but decided just to hold off and just get the ridgeback asap, so paid £170 deposit & get the bike next week.

^_^ role on next Tuesday ^_^

I think that your bike is a thing of beauty. I am seriously considering selling my Hardrock and getting one of those.

That looks nice.

been to decathlon today to get a few bits & pieces for the bike coming on tuesday, was raining cats & dogs the whole way there but didn't care i was in the car, just as i was leaving to blokes walked in with cycle gear dripping from head to toe, muck all over there clothes, thought mudguards for the ridgeback so ordered them when i got back.

was thinking about the tyres on the ridgeback there continental contacts supposed to be puncher resistant but that only applies to other people so im bound to get a puncher so was planning on keeping a spare tube like i had on the mtb so i could just change the tube over & fix it when i get home, but was thinking about the self sealing, self healing, self fixing tubes or what ever there called but not sure if they work well enough to spend the extra on them compared to normal tubes, has anybody any experience of them & think they may be worth the money?
