Outrageous overtakes by impatient Drivers

I had a guy overtake me on a blind bend today. He gave me plenty of room, but didnt take into account the possibility of someone coming around the bend. I commented to myself (with no intention of them hearing) but they did so and stopped. The moron driving started shouting out the window and reversing up to me. I decided I didnt want to talk and just cycled past him. Then when he went to overtake again, I stopped and prevented him getting a word in edgeways.
One of the things he said was "I gave you plenty of room, dont have a go at me". Giving me room is irrelevant of you dont think about the oncoming traffic.

My sympathies for getting passed on a blind bend... but with all due respect, if you spoke and the occupant of a passing car heard you, then you were not speaking to yourself. Trust me on this.

Most cyclist go through their entire cycling life without passing motorists stopping, reversing and shouting at them. Now that you've binned the camera (mirabile dictu), ditch the commentary too. The joy will follow.

Trust me on this.

I get this quite a lot on country roads. They overtake me fine, but just dont consider the closing speed of oncoming traffic. I have seen plenty of beeping and lights flashing whilst out and about.

And you'll end up seeing stars if you continue to gob off at motorists, not that you'll take any notice of this advice. Until its too late.

It is that mentality of impatient 'must get past' though which is so mindless. It appears that they are incapable of dealing with more than one moving vehicle at a time around them.

There's too many idiot drivers on the roads these days not paying attention. At least off road I control the risk.

As a motorcyclist too this is my biggest fear, meeting a car head on around a bend. You'd hope its pretty rare, a one in a million thing. But being a cyclist too I see it literally everyday. People unwilling to wait 10 seconds to overtake safely, they'll go onto the other side of the road with little or no view of the road ahead. Seen far too many near misses in my time.

Should probably be automatically classed as dangerous driving. But fat chance we'll see that.

Just had a cyclist killed just a couple of days back down the road from me, car overtook another car over double-white lines, killed a cyclist coming the other way. http://www.theargus.co.uk/news/1070...after_cyclist_dies_in_Pulborough_hit_and_run/
