For the last 36 hours I have had a fairly severe pain in my left foot which seems to start at the top middle of the foot and go all the way up into the shin ;)

I am not conscious of having done anything to damage my foot or ankle, but did spend several day last week riding over some pretty steep Welsh hills, so wonder whether this could be an indication that I have strained my foot or ankle in some way.

Any ideas?

I had exactly the same thing last year, I spent weeks wondering what I'd done to my lower leg, couldn't remember anything...

Turned out to be my back (again).

You may have trapped a nerve or slightly slipped a disc, I would guess. I would recommend a trip to the chiro.

Hmm...I have periodically had bad back problems and do see a very good chiro. However although the bad back does give me pains in places that don't seem to be related to my back (notably my kidney area), I have never had it affect my legs.

Might give her a ring and see what she says.
