It's more or less the same as white spirit or turps substitute, available from DIY stores. If you're planning to do fire-breathing, go for odourless kerosine, which I believe is sold as BBQ lighting fluid. The odourless version tastes a bit better than regular.

As above, I got mine from diy.com (B&Q). Best price i could find - and 10% off on wednesdays ;-) Toolstation do a carb cleaner at a very good price if you need something a bit more rigorous.

... you might find that the specific degreaser in 5ltr packs from Screwfix that's pretty cheap gives a better result - either neat or diluted - and no oily residue that you get with paraffin.

Honest answer yes very good value for money.i put an old rear mech in a tub swilled it about with the degreaser neat a bit of brushing and it's come up like new.
Would use it again but it will last a long time as it's in a 5 litre can.
