I too have had a creepy paranormal moment. I dreamed of Carol Vorderman last night. This morning I switched on the telly at 9am for my standard weekday dose of Lorraine on ITV, and lo! Vorders is there standing in for Lorraine this week. A very creepy - but rather pleasant - moment.

Of course it's the ambition of some to introduce this sort of nonsense to the wonderful simplicity of the bicycle. I well remember in my company car days the mega bills from an audi dealer. One to sort a minor malfunction on the air powered central locking. The doors still locked of course. It was probably an ill fitting bit of plastic plumbing. Feel lucky to have gone through life without actually owning a car. Metal.

Master keys are often 10 times more expensive than the standard door keys in a multi occupancy building.

Years ago Peugeot tried that on with Mrs D. £40 had a perfect Chinese knock off of the Peugeot specific computer in my sweaty hands and I was suddenly able to to do anything with the diagnostics, configuration and settings that the dealer could.

Last night i dreamt i had a pick-up, with tools in the back and everything. I was the envy of friend and foe, alike. Today, whilst taking the kids to school we walked past a pick-up! And then there's a thread here about the paranormal and cars!!

2013. Peugeot still use PP2000 today, so mothing has changed. Mrs D no longer owners her own car, so it's not a personal issue any more.

Years ago my English colleague in Nigeria asked me to buy two new key blippers for his P38 Range Rover as the originals had become degraded by sweat and heat. He gave me the VIN off the logbook and I ordered them at a then hefty £125 each. When they arrived in Nigeria they wouldn't work so my colleague checked the actual VIN on the vehicle and it didn't match the logbook. Spooky or what?

This won't help for a lost key but if you've damaged it you can just get a new housing and transfer all the internals across for under £6 :

Suzuki told me a while back their keys are really pricey. A quick view of a Youtube video showed me how to change the battery. And it works fine.
I'm sure the dealer would have created a 'reprogramming charge'.

Do not lose the keys is even cheaper, that aside the dealers have massive overheads to cover and will not be making as much as the local key man for the same job.

Dealer can make plenty from a broken key that only needs a new blade, as mine did. Skoda dealership would only offer me a full new key at £141, when all I needed was a new blade that I could get from a local key man for £12.50. That's the kind of behaviour that alienates customers.
