Hi all...me and 3 friends are cycling from Paris to London in september. All in the aid of charity of course.

We're intending on doing it over a 3 day period. Have any of you done the same route? If so we would really appreciate any tips on which towns to aim for at the end of the day, places to stay etc.

Any tips of any kind would be great.....even a recommended route!?

Many Thanks

3 days! I'm impressed!

It's 250 miles via the auto routes (no bikes) give or take.

So, I'd guess the fastest and most direct bike route on the main roads would be 300-350 miles, plus you have to factor in the train or ferry time, so if you can manage three days at about 120 miles each/ten plus hours in the saddle each day, you have back up for your kit, accommodation that you can just turn up to, meals prepared, food served on the wheel etc. then I think it's do-able as long as you could give Lance Armstrong a run for his money up Ventoux.

Seriously, whilst there are quite a number of charidee three day events London/Paris they all involve some serious logistical back up and support, and the people doing these rides are committed team cyclists or club amateurs.

So don't let me put you off, but if you are unsupported, then you will need to double the time, or choose another city to city option
