Tell me more please? I use Bitwarden and, tbh, hadn't even considered this point.

If you look at the BitWarden login page (see screenshot) you’ll see a little drop down at the bottom of the page.
This allows you to select between their generic and EU services.

I have strong inclination that this is to allow corporate users to comply with data sovereignty policies that organisations may have in place.
(It’s certainly a topic I’d raise with client if implementing change in an organisation.)

I, for no other reason than I can, preferred to have my service hosted in the EU under EU legal jurisdiction.
I have not completed due diligence on the veracity of this assertion, but it seemed an obvious choice to me.

I raised it in the thread as I think it’s not obvious when you create an account that you have a choice.

Caveat:
I’ve been following this thread and note some of the debates.
I’m of the view that there is no one solution that’s right for everybody.
It’s really about assessing your own needs, risk profile, and risk appetite.
Therefore, while I’m happy to share my experience, I do so in good faith and accept others may have different views.

I exported my passwords from .com, created a new account on. eu and imported my passwords. All good. Thank you.

I only use Bitwarden for passwords & passkeys, I use Aegis for 2FA.

Have to say I love the caveat. ^_^
