Okay I stand corrected - it's "del" and not "di"

Aha. Someone called Count Ghisallo who had a shrine built to the local mary now called Madonna del Ghisallo that protected him in Coma in Northern Italy, later officialised by Pius XII. So a patroness of cycling.

I was on a bike ride once with someone called Helen and we passed St Helen's church. So the patron saint of cycling is St Helen, IMHO.
