Pavement driving

Yet another case of pavement driving puts 5 people in hospital in South London. I did a quick google search and there seems to be a rash of them, whether through drugs and alcohol, carelessness, poor or dangerous driving or medical incapacity. I did a quick google search on ,"car mounted pavement" and the result is carnage.

I think there needs to be clearer distinction?

To me I would classify the risks and danger from intentional driving and parking on a pavement with the consequent damage and injuries differently to a vehicle mounting or driving on a pavement as part of loss of control whether that be drugs, alcohol, mechanical failure etc

Exactly, I saw the cctv on last night's news that stopped just before the car came into contact with a teenage girl, horrendous. That was a deliberate act of violence though.

It's not just intentional but has become "normal" now in areas of Bradford, certainly where I work. why stay in a queue when there is a pavement?

Maybe the council could lead by example and get off the pavements, and stick to driving on the roads.

The driver has been arrested for drink driving. This will be a problem for as long as we have cars and alcohol.

I did complain to our Parish Council recently when the chap fitting the speed indicator device parked his car up two wheels on the path, effectively blocking it. Clearly they pay only lip service to public safety.

@MarkF will know the Shipley Airdale road, previously Canal Road in parts. And what the traffic can be like. An "extra" lane on the pavement doesn't help.
