I remember many train journeys home from wine tastings with 'free samples' being passed around the carriage. I doubt (m)any of the impromptu tasters realised how good the wine was, but it was a good laugh.

If it had a nice taste Joe then fine- it's good stuff. Did you buy some. I was only making a silly association between French Chablis and Swiss Chablais. Chablis is 'the wine of the chatering classes'. I went there once and the roots of the vine that the grapes are picked from can descend to ten metres..."Vielles Vignes" is a phrase sometimes mentioned on the label.
If someone wants to give you something like this, then bite their hand off say "Oh ok - I'll look forward to tasting this...thank you very much"

No, didnt buy any, mum said there was no room in caravan, but if we did want some the one already in the caravan needed drinking.
Been in there a while, has got very very hot before aswell, been in about 2 or 3 years aswell so im not keen on touching it.
Ill remember the Vielles Vignes stuff, i bet i wouldnt be able to taste the difference though
