Have you got any links to explain that idea?

Its a very interesting theory, and one I have not heard before. I would be interested to read more on the topic (Having a connection with a manic depressive, I would like to be better informed)

It is a complex subject. If you want to read some scientific research, I have pasted a link to a research article. I hope it will work. If not, go to pubmed and do advanced search.

I thought she was quite sorted and settled nowadays? Poor lass, whatever happened.

Again speculation......

Wasn't she being investigated by the Police over naming the parents (and hence identifying the children) in the Ian Watkins case with a view to prosecution

Tragic. And no less tragic for being a family in the public eye.
My partner's kids dad took his own life so Peaches life has been the main subject of conversation this afternoon. Poor poor Bob. And on a Monday too.

I don't know what happened, but sufferers of what used to be called Manic Depression are most at risk on the upswing when they may have the confidence to self-harm.

makes sense - not sure i'm MD, but on the down phases of my depression i am too dark and withdrawn to actually do anything. when i get that bad i simply cannot think straight enough to attempt suicide. therefore it may be that in some cases during an 'up' swing, when the person is more active and has clearer thoughts, then a plan can be formulated and acted upon.

MOD NOTE:

KEEP TO THE OP.

If you wish to widen the conversation to discuss the issues around depression, suicide etc, please start a new thread in Health and Fitness.

Thank you.
Why?

The OP is that Peaches Geldof has died.

As well as people giving their condolences why can't people amicably discuss the possible root causes of why she died?
I give that 30 seconds.

On a side note, BBC had Chi-Chi discussing Peaches. Whatever happened to names like Edna and Beryl?

In a way maybe it's a blessing both the children are so young, they can adapt so well when they're tiny.Tragic. I hope it's ok to say that in troughs of depression there's a risk of suicide, but it's also true that on the upswing behaviour becomes rash and impulsive.
