I know people won't believe this, because they choose to prefer the stereotype of filthy addicts lying in the gutter, but with a reliable supply of safe drugs a normal life is possible for a drug user. The person working at the desk next to you could be a user and you would never know.
Before anyone rushes to judge this young woman, implying that she should have had more 'self-control' and just stopped using, I suggest they get over to the giving up smoking thread and read how smokers can't even bear to think of ending their habit. Ending a heroin habit is far more difficult.
