Just got all my stuff (including my new SPD shoes) clean and dry again after a major drenching on Saturday, and cleaned / oiled the bike......

Now, tonight I need to cycle 3 miles after work to pick up my car from MOT, and I`m back to square f*cking one:angry::rolleyes::rolleyes:!!!

Don`t know why I bother, feel like sticking the whole lot in the paper!!

Anybody else sick to death of it??

Rant over!!!

Speccy1, don't be too down hearted, in spite of what has been posted we all have days like this.

Yesterday I got to work and although my feet were dry(sealskinz & overshoes)they were absolutely freezing from the water that had come up thru my clipless shoe.

I then had to stand around in the cold for 3 hours.
Even tho the rain had cleared by the time it came to go home I elected to take the bike on the train rather than stay frozen for longer on the bike.

Also I only clean my bike every month or so, so it's less of a pain getting it dirty, especially at this time of year.

Chin up, don't be put off.

When I've got the time, I find cleaning my bike quite therapeutic. I tend to watch a DVD or the iplayer and take it easy.

This is for the posh road bike mind. The everyday bike is a fixed gear so it doesn't need much love. Maybe get a fixed?

I got soaked through on Saturday, washed and dried all my gear on Sunday, then got soaked through again on Monday.

But I didn't feel as bad as you. I felt like buying some more cycle clothes, but can't afford it.

These soakings don't actually come along very often, so chin up and remember all the good things that come with commuting in all weather.
For me it was seeing the mile after mile of traffic jams as I cruised passed it all, and knowing I'm one day closer to summer

Since taking up cyclocross I rarely complain about the state of my commute bike, and cleaning it is almost a pleasure.

I have had the same thought but cycling home today I was in a world of my own, brilliant, no one to bother me, and although the bike was dirty again, we were at one with each other, and the thought of stroking her lovely down tube over the weekend made me glad she was dirty !!
