Funny thing is, I've been in the rain in November more times than I'm counting.....it's meant decorating has been done at weekends, rather than ride the fast bikes (argh)....but, get this............

It's been the second best month all year for miles for me (I can't believe it) beat by about 20 miles in September when dry)...... why.....it's been wet...just extra commutes, and site visits.....less weekend rides (which is where the fun is)....although, we did get the CC Ride in at the start of the month round Cheshire and Jodrell, plus a fair few miles for me in hissing rain (and others) to get to the excellent CC Manchester Velodrome session.......... ah..far better than work...................

Just got all my stuff (including my new SPD shoes) clean and dry again after a major drenching on Saturday, and cleaned / oiled the bike......

Now, tonight I need to cycle 3 miles after work to pick up my car from MOT, and I`m back to square f*cking one:angry:;)!!!

Don`t know why I bother, feel like sticking the whole lot in the paper!!

Anybody else sick to death of it??

Rant over!!!

What bike and gear have you got and how much do you want for it?

Pics would be much appreciated.

Clean the bike? That's what big puddles are for ;)

Worst thing today was an idiot bus driver at Liverpool Street....another idiot at Mile End both leading to potential left hooks. The bus driver was unbelievable actually tailgating me before he did a left turn. Also a mad 4x4 driver at Bow who seemed to have learned how to drive off of the A Team.

Not so sure about the City of London police either. They did eventually pull over the very youngish moped rider who's rear lamp consisted of a bike lamp with half flat batteries.

Looks like i've been lucky with the weather but no box of chocolates for that bus driver im afraid.

Hey Speccy1, I think at times we've all felt like that, and to be honest I'm not far behind you at the moment. It's not just the cold weather that's getting to me, but I've been getting a few punctures and I'm just generally a little bored with the dark and cold already as we've hit such low temperatures (for me!!!) already.

So, I've now focussed on other reasons why I cycle (to get/stay fit, to eat whatever I want without worrying about my weight) and I use that as my motivation instead. I also do a little "tackiest decorations" competition in my head to distract me too, which works well for me.

I hope this passes for you soon, if not, could you back out for a few weeks until the weather gets a bit better or only go out on dry days?

Despite what people on here would have you believe, no-one will give you a medal for cycling in horrendous weather. I don't think there is any shame is eyeing up a monsoon/gale combo through the rain-spattered windows and thinking "Nah, not today".

So, no I never get sick of it because I take the cosy option when it's chucking it down, and get the tube
