Not at all sure if this is useful to anyone:
I have the regular pendulum cranks on my bike in Newport, S Wales. For my annual winter cycling in India I keep a touring bike in a self storage unit in New Delhi. For this bicycle I have installed a semi DIY pendulum cranks using SJS crank shorteners (obtained a s/h pair for £25; £60 new), mini-pendulum cranks (around £20 from Ebay or AliExpress) extended to 85mm using shortened knackered left and right cranks with 15mm drilled holes to accept 9/16" 20 tpi bolts (from another set of the above mini pendulum cranks, another £20 (seems impossible to buy 9/16" 20 tpi bolts). Total cost for this £65. I have test ridden for 6 weeks now in North India with no undue issues to my grade 3/4 osteoarthritic knees despite the extended QR factor.
