Yeah both rush hours are bad, but then I one rode home at 2:30 and was exposed to less aggressive driving, but more plain stupid driving.

I tend to find I get picked on more if im on my own.Well sometimes anyway, not sure if it's to do with a full moon.
No, it's just to do with cowardice. Lone people are easier targets for cowards, plus they also know that if anything bad happens, it's your word against theirs, and no other witnesses .

On a lighter note:

I think the trouble is my commute isn't busy, there's no tailbacks or anything so the traffic is free to go nuts and everyone's desperate to get home.

People are absolutely mental sometimes!!
What's your route, Lesley?

Along Hamilton road and Glasgow Road towards Uddingston. It's those roads that are the worst, when I get onto the back streets it's fine.

I leave work at around 1:30pm, sometimes I can't get out until 2 or 2:30pm, then I get caught in the school traffic with parents more concerned about turning around and shouting at their kids than driving.

The roads around Knightsbridge are pretty bonkers at the best of times! However yes, around 6pm it's particularly nutty.

This junction: http://goo.gl/maps/s2CX8

F**k that junction.

I know, I can't think of an alternative route though... Can you think of one??
You could go along the Clyde walkway for a bit, until Blantyre - you exit the walkway before Bothwell Castle, back on the road until Uddingston.
Mind, they are doing work near the athlete's village at the moment, building a new bridge, I think it is closed at Dalmarnock.
Need to investigate this: passed it today, seemed still open but I left it at Rutherglen.
If you have good lights you could bypass most of the the busy roads.
