BOAB - I'll pass on voting for you if you don't mind

Can't quite figure out how I would get 3 cats in cat boxes to the vets 8 miles away without my car. Specially as we're 4 miles from the nearest public transport. I don't think sticking the boxes on roller skates and stringing them along behind me would go down too well

Bike trailer

think out of the (cat) box .

wifey is coming up with excuses why she can't ride with our son to schoo, as she has to take lunch PE kit Book bag etc. I put pannier rack on her bike so no excuses now !!

Your wife is doing it wrong, your stuff you carry it, is my motto with small people...

Squidge has rucksack - in goes the book bag, lunch, water bottle & an other miscellaneous kit he needs. Rucksack goes on back.... off he rides ^_^

thats my thinking too , but for an easy nag free life it was easier to get panniers.

They thought that the 10 mile ride out would have left me so exhausted that I would be stranded, whereas I thought it was a wind-up! The same kind of people think that a 5 mile stroll is something only elite athletes could manage ...

Yep, been there. A couple of years ago Mrs Uncle Phil and I cycled to Lista bird observatory in Norway, because she had a job there for a couple of months. Ever since, when she mentions it, people assume she's joking, or that she means she cycled from the airport to Lista.

"Don't be daft. You can't cycle to Norway. You have to fly... don't you?"

OK, a couple of ferries are involved, but it's less distance by road than Lands End to John O'Groats. It's very do-able.

I think you could possibly get the kids and every thing they need to take to school in one of these although you may have the cruelty to children people on your case when the other kids see you.

Ha - yes!

I got chatting to @Fiona N*** on one of my forum rides and she casually mentioned cycling back to the UK from Australia when she finished working Down Under! :bravo:

*** Where is Fiona, by the way? It is almost a year since she last logged in to CC.
