It's one of those songs that rings very true, but I was amazed that he wasn't black. I hadn't seen him, before I heard him, and that is the sort of soulful voice I've rarely heard, from an artist who wasn't black.

When I worked for MFI thirty five years ago, I once ignored a SE Asian customer who was addressing me with an Ian Paisley accent. He looked very confused as I was searching over his shoulder for the source of the Ulster accent only to find that there were no other customers at the counter. The dissonance blew my mind.
