I've read a few crazyguy stories and the impression (possibly false) is that the eastern half can be dull but the western half is worth it.

I think you're right that the west is better than the east. I'm doing it east to west so should be fit enough for the Rockies by the time I get there and be able to enjoy them:smile:. I could just do the best bits but like the idea of the achievement of doing a complete crossing.

Of course. It will be a great adventure and achievement. I think doing it that way is a great incentive as the best will always be ahead of you; even as far as Vancouver Island.

And if I manage to get that far I'm probably going to head down the Pacific Coast highway as well which is supposed to be a great route.

A few years back I saw a cycling holiday on one of the travel programmes.

It was cycling round Japan, staying overnight in traditional accommodation with hot tubs, massage (no not that kind:blush:). It looked fantastic.

Or my over idea of a good time, trekking through the foothills of the Himalayas:becool::biggrin:

I can't really think of a specific holiday I would llike to do, there are many places I would like to visit if I had the opportunity.

Somewhere hot.Thailand fits this perfectly as it always seems to be hot there.

It's also got to be at least 6000 miles away.

Im planning to visit Pluto one day.

Ringing up the bloke next week to see what he suggests.
