Why did you wait so long?
To give the owner a fair chance to return from a pee?

In a nearby city, a bicycle in a bicycle parking in front of a shop, that stays after shops closing hour, the next day a wheel disappears, two days later the other wheel, three days later the pedals, 4 days later the handlebars and stem, leaving what nobody wants.
If the bike was locked to fixings, in order to losen the parts, they turn / force the bike in the weirdoest positions, a funny picture, with more bikes dissected it starts to look like some bicycle parking artwork.
Usually, the bicycle parking lot gradually becomes a bicycle parts lot, with no space left to park, until some1 calls the garbage collectors to solve the problem.

After a few more tweaks I thought it was time for the Subway to hit the road and cycle ways this morning with a 6 return trip across town to drop off the soft plastic recycling.

I was pleasantly surprised about it, ok the wide tyres sap motion, saddle needed to go up more and the bars are WIDE but it was ok .

It almost made me think it would cope easily as a good cheap touring machine.

A couple of arrivals in the last 24 hours that will need my attention in some form or another.
First up is a Dawes Street cruiser which looks like it won't need a lot doing to it hopefully.
First job was to replace the front tyre due to excessive cracking on the sidewall.

Next up is this Reynolds 753 tubing Phil Sherwood road bike which is the first one I have seen. Looks like Reynolds bottom bracket shell and fork crown .
No idea who made the frame yet.

Had a spare 30 minutes this afternoon , so thought i would give the Dawes a quick once over as the lady i got it from mentioned a strange noise from around the rear wheel and sure enough there was a noise that was coming from the rear wheel when you rotated it .

Soon found cause of noise the centre stand was touching the spokes as it was loose so out with the 8mm allen key and it tightened up quite a lot and sure enough that noise stopped , so thought i might as well give it a ride and check what works and doesn't .

Glad to report all 21 gears reported for action and the brakes worked very well so a good 30 minutes

Nice 753 . If memory serves Phil Sherwood was a mechanic for pro teams. Had a shop I think. Built lots of wheels but not frames

It’s renovated 753 sticker so probably just his shop decals and not a frame built by him. Any frame number on it ?

Thank you

Yes shop was in Stourbridge area , wheels both carry his decals.

Not found a number yet but can't say I have looked too hard yet .

Gent I got it from thinks he has had it about 28 years and is going to see if he can contact the previous owner to see what he can remember but not holding my breath.
