When The Girl finished University, we transported her, her belongings and her cat home. The Girl was a fan of Manga and Anime and had a bit of a Japanese vibe going. The cat was not a fan of travelling in those cat box things, so sat on her lap in the van. To make the cat more secure she had a lead on. We stopped at a pub for lunch, so the cat on a lead came with us into the pub garden. The pub staff were cooing over the nice girl with a cat on a lead, having never seen the like. The conversation went something like this:
Pub person 1:"Look at the nice girl with a cat on a lead. Isn't she lovely."
Pub person 2:"What a lovely cat on a lead. How cute."
Pub person 3:"What cute cat on a lead. What's it called?"
The Girl:"Shini. It's short for Shinigami, god of death."
Pub person 1:"Look at the nice girl with a cat on a lead. Isn't she lovely."
Pub person 2:"What a lovely cat on a lead. How cute."
Pub person 3:"What cute cat on a lead. What's it called?"

When I was a child, a very long time ago, we had two Shetland sheepdogs, one named Brandy, the other Soda. My mother, who was tee total, could often be heard on the doorstep calling “Brandy, Soda!”
Our cat, a magnificent, grey, yellow eyed, cross looking creature, was called Mr Pru - having been straightforward Pru till he “matured!”

One is named Maximillian, the other Heidi. Both rescues, Mrs. GA comes up with the names, I have no input, as she has them answering to their new name by taking their adoption day off work and using treats to intensively train them to their new names. Which is probably for the best, as I would have named Maximillian Jay, short for J.Y.D., or Junk Yard Dog, as he exhibits many of those characteristics, and I would have named Heidi Cabela,(large outdoor and sporting goods store in the States) as she loves to be outdoors as much as possible

Got chatting to a chap this morning with a black Lab named Jett, after Joan Jett.

Many years ago in a former life I had a couple of moggies named Whisky & Soda (both long deceased).
We have friends with moggies called Chester and Drawers (one is deceased but I can't remember which).
In my current life we had a British Longhair called Muffi (deceased) and a squash faced Persian called Bonza (deceased). Bonza's registered name was Bonza Jopake Spacecat - Jopake being the cattery name plus we decided that as he lived in space along with the rest of us he was a bona fide spacecat.
My daughter has a Chinchilla (furry thing that throws its crap out of its cage) named Stormin' Norman.
One grandson has two hamsters called Bubble & Squeak

OT but that reminds me of an embarrassing moment on Snowdon summit the year before last.
My wife and I spotted a beautiful Black Lab' with its lady owner and ambled over for a stroke.
We always ask owners if we can pet their dogs so I chimes up "is it ok to stroke your Lab' ?'' My wife looks at the lady, the lady looked at my wife and then they both burst out laughing.
Took me a while to cotton on why.
